Deseret Singles is operated by Deseret Singles LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("Deseret Singles," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Deseret Singles ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), which form an agreement between you and Deseret Singles LLC. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Deseret Singles. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.
Deseret Singles is a values-based platform for Latter-day Saint singles and those who sincerely live by LDS standards. By creating an account, you represent that you will conduct yourself in accordance with those standards. We reserve the right to deny or revoke access to anyone we determine, in our sole discretion, does not belong in this community.
You may not create or maintain an account if you are required to register as a sex offender, or if you have been convicted of a felony or any crime involving violence or sexual misconduct.
How we verify eligibility: when you create an account, we require you to separately and explicitly confirm that (a) you are 18 or older and (b) you are not a registered sex offender, and that the information you provide is accurate and complete and your use of the App complies with all applicable laws. Providing false eligibility information is a violation of these Terms and grounds for immediate removal. We may use additional verification measures (such as optional photo verification) and may suspend or remove any account we believe is ineligible.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Do not share your password with anyone.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@deseretsingles.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
You may not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission.
Deseret Singles is a faith-centered community. You agree not to:
• Post content that is explicit, offensive, harassing, hateful, or violates the standards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation.
• Use the App for commercial solicitation, spam, or scams.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems.
• Upload or share content that infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban at our sole discretion.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
You can report any user or message directly from their profile, and you can block any user at any time. We review every report and will remove objectionable content and the responsible user within 24 hours of becoming aware of it.
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, messages, bio text). By posting content, you grant Deseret Singles a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the App.
You represent that you own or have the right to post all content you submit, and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
Events: Submitting an in-person event is available to verified members only. Event listings are user content and are automatically screened against our event guidelines; listings that do not meet them are hidden. You are solely responsible for any event you organize or attend, and for your conduct and safety at it. Deseret Singles does not host, sponsor, or supervise member-submitted events and makes no representations about them.
Automated processing & verification: Messages you send are automatically screened for safety — including an automatic check for contact details and requests to move a conversation off the platform. In an established two-way conversation such messages are delivered together with a one-time safety notice posted into the thread; in a new or one-sided conversation, or in a public community room, they are held and not delivered, and the sender is told why. Held messages are retained and may be reviewed by our moderation team. Messages may also be translated into other members' languages using a third-party AI service (Anthropic). Event submissions are screened the same way before they appear to other members.
You keep ownership of what you post, but you agree that content you send through the app may be screened automatically for safety and, if it is flagged or reported, reviewed by our safety team so we can investigate and enforce these Terms.
All content, design, trademarks, logos, and software comprising the Deseret Singles service are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
Deseret Singles is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Deseret Singles is currently free to download and use — all features are free during our launch period. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions offered at this time.
Pioneering Members: the first 1,000 members keep the current Premium feature set free for life. This permanent promise covers the Premium features as they exist today; future improvements, enhancements, new features, or separate at-cost add-ons may be offered as separate products (which may be paid) and are not included in the free-for-life grant.
If optional paid subscriptions are introduced in the future, pricing and terms will be shown in the app before any purchase, and purchases will be processed through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Such subscriptions would auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period and could be managed or cancelled in your Apple ID account settings; we would not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by applicable law.
Some members participate as Brand Ambassadors and receive a personal referral code. By using an ambassador's code at signup, you agree that your account will be linked to that ambassador for referral tracking, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Ambassadors may be eligible for compensation based on the number of their referrals who complete photo verification, at rates we set and may change at any time. This compensation is paid to the ambassador outside the App (for example, by Venmo or Zelle); it is not a payment for app features and is not processed through Apple's in-app purchase system.
We may suspend or remove a member's Brand Ambassador status, referral code, or any unpaid compensation at our sole discretion, including for violations of these Terms or our community standards.
The SafeDate™ feature is provided as a courtesy tool. It is not a substitute for professional emergency services.
In any emergency, always contact local emergency services (911 in the US) first. We are not responsible for outcomes resulting from use or non-use of this feature.
By using SafeDate™, you acknowledge that location data and your trusted contact's information may be processed to deliver alerts.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
We do not verify or guarantee the accuracy of information provided by other users. You interact with other members at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deseret Singles and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, personal injury, or harm resulting from meetings with other users.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, community standards, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
Suspension and removal. A suspension is temporary: it may carry an end date, after which your account returns to normal on its own, or it may be lifted by us. Removal for fraud, scam activity or impersonation is permanent, and in those cases we may decline to offer an appeal. Where we remove an account for fraud, we may tell the members who had been in contact with it that the account was removed and remind them not to send money or personal information to anyone they have not met in person. We keep a record of removed accounts so that the same person cannot simply sign up again; see the Privacy Policy for what that record contains.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile > Settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Deleted accounts are recoverable for 30 days, after which all data is permanently removed; we may send you account-related emails during that window, including a message based on the reason you selected when leaving, and a limited number of return invitations afterward (each with a one-tap opt-out).
You may instead pause your account, which hides your profile from other members indefinitely without deleting any data. Paused accounts retain their member benefits (including Pioneering Member status) and can be resumed at any time by signing back in.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Deseret Singles regarding your use of the service and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms were written in English. We may provide translations into other languages for your convenience. The English-language version is the official, controlling version. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and a translated version, the English version governs.
Deseret Singles is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
