Safety
Deseret Singles has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). It is the most serious violation of our rules, and it is the one violation for which there is no warning, no appeal to a lesser penalty, and no second account.
This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, what we prohibit, how we prevent and detect it, how anyone can report it, and how to reach a person about it.
You must be 18 or older to create an account. This is stated in our Terms of Service and enforced in the app itself: onboarding requires a date of birth, and an account whose computed age is under 18 cannot be completed or used.
We do not offer a version of this service for minors, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not permit anyone under 18 to appear on the service in any form. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we remove it.
The following are banned outright, whether in a profile, a private message, a community room, a photo, or anywhere else on the service:
• Child sexual abuse material, or any sexualized depiction or description of a minor.
• Grooming - building a relationship with a minor, or with someone believed to be a minor, in order to sexually exploit or abuse them.
• Sextortion, or any threat to expose intimate material of a minor.
• Soliciting, offering, arranging, or advertising sexual contact with a minor, including trafficking.
• Attempting to make contact with a minor for any sexual purpose.
• Any account created or used by a person under 18.
This applies to real, fictional, and computer-generated depictions alike, and it applies regardless of the age of consent where a member happens to live.
An adults-only front door. Age is collected and checked at signup, and an under-18 account cannot be completed.
Every message is screened before it can do harm. Automated safety screening runs on every direct message and every community room message. Content that endangers, grooms, or sexualizes a child is treated as our highest severity, is hidden immediately rather than delivered, and is escalated for human review. The same screening runs on profile text.
Optional photo verification. Members can verify that the person in their photos is the person using the account, which makes impersonation harder.
Behavioural monitoring. Automated checks run continuously for the patterns that accompany predatory and deceptive accounts, and flagged accounts are reviewed by a person.
Human review. Every automated flag and every member report reaches a moderation queue that a person actually reads.
In the app: every profile, every direct message, and every community room message carries a Report control, and every profile can be blocked. Reports about a child safety concern go to the top of our moderation queue.

You do not need an account to report something to us by email, and you can report anonymously.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
We remove the content, terminate the account, and block the person from creating a new one.
We preserve the account, its content, and the associated records as evidence rather than deleting them, so that they remain available to investigators.
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as required of United States providers under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and we cooperate with law enforcement requests, including in other countries where the law requires it.
We do not require a member to have been harmed before we act. An attempt is enough.
