Delete your account

1. Delete it yourself in the app (fastest)

Open Deseret Singles → Settings → Delete Account. It takes effect immediately — your profile disappears from Discover and from every other member's view straight away.

You will be asked (optionally) why you are leaving. You can skip that.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your phone, or simply prefer not to sign in, email hello@deseretsingles.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it.

We will confirm the request, delete the account, and email you when it is done. You never need to reinstall the app.

You have 30 days to change your mind

Deleting starts a 30-day window. During that time your account is hidden from everyone and nothing is visible to other members, but it can still be restored — just sign back into the app and choose Restore. After 30 days the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

If you are a Lifetime Member, deleting your account ends your free-for-life membership. Restoring brings back your profile, photos, matches and messages, but not Lifetime Member status. A paused account keeps it.

If you only want a break, use Pause instead (Settings → Pause Account). Pausing hides you from other members with no deletion clock at all, and everything is waiting for you when you resume.

What is deleted

Your profile, photos, biographical details, location, matches, likes, direct messages, community-room posts, event RSVPs, emergency contacts, SafeDate™ check-ins, notification tokens and your sign-in credentials are all deleted. Your personal data is removed within 30 days of the deletion becoming permanent.

What is kept, and why

Messages you sent to other members. Their copy of the conversation stays in their inbox, in the same way an email you have sent stays in the recipient's inbox. Your name and photo are removed from it and your profile can no longer be opened.

Your first name and email address may be kept so we can send a small number of invitations to come back. Every one of those emails has a one-tap opt-out, and you can ask us to remove you immediately at any time.

A de-identified record of the deletion itself — the date, and the reason or note if you chose to give one — so we can understand why members leave. Anything identifying you is stripped from that record 30 days after deletion.

We may also retain information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to prevent fraud and abuse — for example, to stop an account that was banned for harming other members from simply signing up again.
